Martial Arts

Boxing

Boxing is a combat sport in which two people wearing protective gloves punch each other in a boxing ring overseen by a referee in a set amount of time. This is one of the most watched martial arts apart from MMA (mixed martial arts).

The origins of boxing dates back to Ancient Ethiopia, it became popular in Ancient Egypt after the invasion of Nubia. From Egypt it spread to places like Greece and India where the ruler of India was said to be a talented boxer. With this from India, places like Thailand created Muay Thai, Laos created Muay Lao, Cambodia created Pradal Serey and Myanmar created Lethwei.

I would recommend this to all able people without disabilities or vision problems as it would do the would off good for you. You don’t need to do this professionally, you can just do it for the fitness but you need to have a will and mentality to do this, I had to learn that the hard way the first time I tried but now I enjoy it thoroughly.

Final Thoughts

It is known there is a lot of hate for Krav Maga as it is not very useful in combat sports. However, if you have the means to learn it then I would tell you to ask yourself if you are committed enough, this is due to the costs of learning with a practitioner and the natural aggression of the sport. I personally wouldn’t do it but please give me an email to share your thoughts!
