Rating: 9.7/10

Opinion: This book was very informative, entertaining, inspiring, and motivational and we definitely recommend this for students and young adults. This should be on your shopping list as this will change your life and entertain you with the hilarious stories on there. For example, one of the stories was about how Aldrin went on a dance show when he was 86 years old! Also

Astronomical

Author: Tim James

About: Theoretical physics and different concepts of the space-time continuum.

Rating: 7/10

Opinion: This book had interesting topics and mind-boggling concepts, however, the format was boring and I won't recommend this for first-time readers. If you have read many books in the past, however, then this is a great way to challenge your brain with the theories of Tim James. However, at some points, it can get boring due to the repetitiveness and the multiple paragraphs that seem like they don't end.

Vedic Mathematics: Inside Out

Author: Chandrahas Halai

About: Indian mathematics and different tips and tricks to solve maths questions quicker. For example, it uses the studies of ancient mathematicians such as Aryabhata.

Rating: 6.9/10

Opinion:  This book had a good amount of tips and tricks to do maths efficiently however I wasn't able to apply this due to the UK's test marking when it comes to mathematics. However, this could be useful for students outside the UK as it takes traditional column addition and puts it to shame due to how fast you can solve questions. Also, the book was written in a way that you could learn rather quickly, it also has practice questions so you could learn better and interact with the information.

Sapiens

Author: Yuval Noah Harari

Rating: 8.4/10

About: History, biology, and socio-philosophy and how the first human evolved into a modern-day human. It talks about how the ancient human lived, for example, they hunted for food and listened to the flight or fight system.

Opinion: This was a huge book spanning 400 pages. It was enticing and got me reading for hours on end. Sometimes I would check how many pages I was at and it was definitely a lot to consume.  I would definitely recommend it to people who want to learn about biology and the philosophies of the human species. Also, it is interesting to know about our roots and how we used to fight and live and how we can implement them into our daily lives and combat.

Rich Dad, Poor Dad

Author: Robert Kiyosaki

Rating: 9/10

About: Economics, business, and financial literacy and how to earn money without giving 24/7 to your normal job. For example, it talks about money

Opinion: I listened to this book for free via Spotify and it was such a game-changer. It changed my perspective of money and how it is okay to talk about money and it shouldn't be a taboo topic among your friends. Also, it emphasises the importance of having a person that can guide you mentally whether it is a physical confrontation or a digital one.

Cashflow Quadrant

Author: Robert Kiyosaki

Rating: 8.5/10

About: Business, politics, financial literacy, and is a continuation of Rich Dad Poor Dad. It has verses written by many associates of Robert Kiyosaki.

Opinion: I also listened to this book on audiobook on Spotify and it was very good. I believe this book was not as good as Rich Dad, Poor Dad due to the way it was written but it is more informational and if you read/listen carefully there are some real hidden gems to take.

A Brief History of Time

Author: Stephen Hawking

Rating: 6.3/10

About: Theoretical physics and history of physics and the Big Bang theory.

Opinion: I think this book was extremely tedious to read. However, if you have a deep knowledge of physics this would be interesting and it has an abundance of information. My favourite part by far was the white wholes which is basically the opposite of white holes which is basically the opposite of black holes. Also, it is known that Steven Hawking is a remarkable human as he was able to write despite the fact that he is constrained to a wheelchair.

Business @ The Speed Of Thought

Author: Bill Gates

Rating: 8.9/10

About: Business and computer science and how to use both to your advantage to make money talking. Also, it contained many case studies to learn from including meeting presidents and different company CEOs. One example of the case study is the device people in Argentina use to operate their Microsoft accounts.

Opinion: this was a very interesting book and has given me a good idea of how business works and how Bill managed to get Microsoft to where it is today. Definitely, one I would recommend for people who want to be inspired or a person who wants to start a software business. Also, it is admirable to note that despite that Bill isn't a business expert he is still able to educate many on how to negotiate with foreign people despite may not having much in common with them.

Kay's Anatomy

Author: Adam Kay

Rating: 9.5/10

About: Human anatomy and biology and how the human body functions in a way that can be understood by most people. It uses comedic language to help the information stick in the mind.

Opinion: This book was one of the best books I've ever read as it gives a person with little to no knowledge about the human anatomy a decent level of understanding. Another great thing is that it is written in simple language for people to understand so it isn't like a medical school textbook. Also, the way that Kay was able to integrate comedy into learning was a great way for me to understand it in a breeze. In fact, it was so good I read it 3 times in total as it was a way for me to learn without the need for a device which can be distracting in the world of today.

The Finance Book

Author: Si Hussain and Stuart Warner

Rating: 7/10

About: Finance and business and how they both correlate immensely. For example, there are many people employed to keep huge companies afloat. For example, there are many people involved in calculating taxes and expenses.

Opinion: This book is about how to organize the financial part of a business and the different roles of people like actuaries and CFOs. This was quite a large book full of technical vocab and is very hard to understand but is organized into summary sections every chapter for people to understand so I would recommend it to people who want to widen their financial literacy or start a business. However I believe that the quote ", Understand the numbers even when you're not a financial professional, " is misleading as it was extremely difficult to understand.

Data Science for Beginners

Author: Alex Campbell

Rating: 6.5/10

About: The basics of data science and the skills and perks of going into data science. Which could be a good field for many people to go into. It ranges from the knowledge required to become a Data scientist to even the basic code for it.

Opinion: This book has helped me look into careers I want to get into possibly in the future while learning about the basics which helps quite a lot. I would highly recommend this for a short read as this book only lasted 71 pages. However, you need to know code in order to understand a few sections, and because I'm a beginner in coding I didn't understand everything. Also, the way it was presented was not the best due to the fact that at times it can get a bit waffly and can easily lose concentration.

Elon Musk

Author: Ashlee Vance

Rating: 9/10

About: The life story of Elon Musk and how he immigrated from South Africa to Canada to the United States in order to live his dreams of electric cars and entrepreneurship and colonize Mars. This dives into the Alpha mindset he installs in himself to thrive in his businesses and work 70-80 hour work weeks.

Opinion: This book is amazing and I would highly recommend this book for the youth as it will motivate you to install the work ethic to thrive in whatever you try to do. The author has done a really good job of displaying the mind of this genius.  It was very interesting to see how he went through many setbacks and how he got back up. Also, it is admirable to have a look at the initiative he had when he was a kid as he was constantly trying to cram in a lot of knowledge and built many digital stuff such as a game he sold for $500 in South Africa, and when finished his education in college he started his businesses shortly after in order to avoid problems with finance when has a family.

Julius Caesar

Author/Playwrights: William Shakespeare

Rating: 3.5/10

About: This is a play that displays the downfall of Marcus Brutus and is meant to symbolize that trusting the wrong people is going to end up creating a painful end.

Opinion: I admire the ideas and thoughts of Shakespeare and the way he presents them. However, I would be able to appreciate it more if the way he spoke was more clear to people in this century. I would not recommend reading this as it will make you fall asleep in 2 minutes of reading, on the other hand, if you want to watch it then it is very thought-provoking so I would recommend watching the play.

Animal Farm

Author: George Orwell

Rating: 8/10

About: Animals overthrow their farmer and owner by the lead of prized boar Old Major, however after the passing of Old Major, four pigs take charge of the farm and deploy a communist rule on the farm. However, everything goes wrong after one pig gets very power-hungry and corrupt.

Opinion: When I was reading this I was very captivated and learned much about politics and left-wing politics. The plot was very well designed to spread awareness. I would recommend this for any person above the age of 13. Orwell really made it easy for people of many ages to understand and it is very interesting how he used animals to make it more appealing for the kids at the time.

On a spiritual journey, he meets 3 spirits which make him realize what he has done wrong.

Opinion: When I was reading this in the merry-spirited month of December it helped me understand the point of Christmas and how important family and friends are and the significance of spending time with them. The concepts were very interesting and analyzing and I would recommend this for people above the age of 12.

The Art of War

Author: Sun Tzu

Rating: 8.5/10

About: This is a book created by one of the best military tacticians of all time, which talks about the tactics he follows when he goes to war. It can easily be applied to combat and modern warfare.

Opinion: I have learned a lot about mindset and how a mixture of mindset and physicality. Also, it explains much about leadership and how to organise people in the most productive way. For example, in boxing, it is crucial to be able to get into the mental state in order to be able to mess with your opponent, as well as this you need to be physically prepared and move with your opponent, similar to being in an antagonistic relationship. I would definitely recommend this to anyone into combat or tactics.

Much Ado About Nothing

Playwright: William Shakespeare

Rating: 5.5/10

About: This a comedy play about the relationships between high-class people in the city of Messina.

Opinion: I haven't gone through it in thorough detail unlike other books but I can say that this is a very challenging read due to the Shakespearean English used in the play. I wouldn't recommend this for casual readers however if you like English literature then I would recommend this.

How to Think Like a Philosopher

Author: Peter Cave

Rating: 9.1/10

About: A book on different Philosophers and the basis of how they thought and conducted themselves.

Opinion: This book was very informative and had many thought-provoking experiments from philosophers such as Lao Tzu and Plato. This book can also be a way of self-discovery and seeing what you believe in instead of what you are forced to do by society. I would recommend this for people 13 and over.
